Green Planet Dubai is a 4 story building under which rain-forest ambiance is created . Lots of birds, animals, insects are housed inside the green planet. The Green Planet in Dubai is a one of a kind attraction for this Middle Eastern Country. This Indoor rainforest can be explored and enjoyed in the Arabian deserts and is open to visitors. The Green Planet in Dubai is based on the innovative and unusual concept of the Bio-Dome. The Green Planet has got to notice of many scientists and biologists who are keen to know more and explore more of this kind of ecosystem.
The green planet is about 3.5 kms from Burj Khalifa, 2.4 kms from Financial Centre metro station. Visit to this place can be clubbed with visit to various other attractions along the Sheik Zyed road- such as Burj Khalifa, Dubai Marina, World Trade centre etc. While going to Green Planet we got down at Financial Centre metro and walked. While returning we took a taxi to Dubai Mall.
Being in desert, getting a feel of a forest- particularly rain forest is a unique experience. Of course for those who have visited the western ghats or other rainforests in South East Asia this isn't a big deal.
Green Planet campus houses several birds and animals- they are free to roam around the green plant though can't go outside. (They won't survive outside in the desert). The birds are used to humans coming very close, so they don't fly away if we try to get a closer picture. The central canopy is abotu 45 meters from ground.

Lace Goanna Lizard
Guests can explore the Australian Walkabout's abandoned crashed plane that is now home to the Lace Goanna Lizard, the second-largest goanna in Australia that can grow as long as 2.1 metres. Venture inside the plane and capture the perfect photo with the large goanna lizard.
Lizards & Turtles
Over at the lizard and turtle exhibit, which is reminiscent of Australians famous landmark Uluru, visitors will be able to witness the weird and wonderful bearded dragon, frill-necked lizard, blue-tongue skink and snake-neck turtles. Find these creatures at the abandoned campsite with plenty of red sand, overgrown grass and rock work, the exhibit presents the idyllic setting suited for these fascinating creatures.
Wallabies
Head over to the walkabout's largest exhibit to find the gorgeous big-footed marsupials and relatives of Australia's iconic kangaroos – the wallabies. Guests will also find amongst the cave and trees some of Australia's famous birds, including major Mitchell's cockatoos, laughing kookaburras and a palm cockatoo.
Australian Carpet Python
Australia, famous for its slithering reptiles, is home to 11 out of 15 of the world’s most poisonous snakes. Within the Australian Walkabout guests can find the famous Australian Carpet Python within the abandoned workshop, slithering amongst broken shelves, tools and a ceramic sink basin – look, but don't touch!
The Australian Walkabout will also boast multiple species of grass parakeets, cockatrices, and smaller Australian parakeets, the notorious red back spider and an army of white tree frogs.
Encounter Details
A 15-20 minute of Kookaburra interaction once per day at 11:00 am. This is an opportunity for guests to get an up-close experience with the Kookaburra where they can feed the Australian bird take pictures next to them.
Bird Encounter

Toucans are actually an endangered species due to their habitat being destroyed with the removal of huge chunks of rain-forest.
Encounter Details
At Green Planet, guest (max 6 participants) can have a 20 minutes Bird encounter with Toucan, Caiques or other small parrots once per day at 11:30 am. This is an opportunity for guests to get an up-close experience with our birds where they can take pictures next to them and learn more about different habitats of birds from an experienced biologist available in the Green Planet during their session.
The Sloth Encounter
Did you know?
Sloths are extremely slow-moving mammals found in the rainforest canopies of Central and South America. Some sloths stay in the same tree for years and they sleep around 15 hours a day. Their huge hooked nails and long arms allow them to spend most of their time hanging upside-down from trees.
Encounter Details
Sloth encounter (max 5 participants per session) includes a 30 minutes session twice per day at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm respectively. This is an opportunity for guests to get an up-close experience with a sloth where they can take pictures next to them and learn more why these sleepy guys are so important to the rainforest during their session.
Reptile Encounter
Did you know?
Certain types of snakes can go months without eating. This is especially true of the big constrictors, such as the Anaconda and the reticulated python. Snakes eat large meals (relative to their body size), and they have much slower metabolisms than we humans have.

At Green Planet guest (max 5 participants per session) can have a 20 minutes of Reptile encounter with lizards, geckos, snake, turtle or chameleon twice per day. The first session is at 12:30 pm and guest can purchase the tickets online and at gate. Second session is at 4:30 pm, guest can purchase the tickets at gate
This is an opportunity for guests to get an up-close experience with a reptile where they can take pictures holding or standing next to them and learn more about different habitats of reptiles from an experienced biologist available in the Green Planet during their session.
Sugar Glider Encounter

Sugar Gliders are small nocturnal mammals. They have a thin skin flap behind their arms that allows them to glide from tree to tree.
Encounter Details
A 20 minutes of Sugar Glider interaction (max 5 participants) once per day at 14:30. This is an opportunity for guests to get an up-close experience with a Sugar Glider. They can take pictures next to them as well as learn more about why they are unique within the animal kingdom. A biologist will be able to answer any questions you may have during your time with these little ones.
Piranhas
Did you know?
The species is deemed as one of the more dangerous and aggressive of its kind and is famously known for its razor-sharp bite that's capable of taking mouth-sized chunks of flesh out of other organisms.

Piranhas bark!
The word piranha means “fish tooth”
Piranhas have lived in South America for millions of years
Piranha teeth are intense but replaceable
The Piranha family includes both Carnivorous and Vegetarian species, some are cannibals!
When hunting prey, piranhas go for the tail and eyes
Piranhas swim in schools for safety, not strength
Pirhana only attack for food and even then they are mainly scavengers that pray on injured or dead flesh
They are quite shy and retiring when not hungry
Piranhas seem to be attracted to noise, splashing and blood
Encounter Details
Visitors will be able to witness a feeding frenzy like no other, as the hungry 1,000 Piranhas devour their food with their razor-sharp teeth. The session will take place once a day at 16: 00 pm. Experts will always be on hand to educate the guest and visitors.
